Our Village Council recently passed an ordinance amending the previous solicitor/peddler permitting process in order to protect our residents.  Some of these changes include:

• No person, while canvassing, peddling or soliciting, shall enter the premises or knock on the door, or ring the doorbell if a resident posts a “No Trespassers”, No Canvassers”, “No Solicitors” or “No Peddlers” sign with visible and legible letters at least three-fourths of an inch high.
• Any resident not posting a sign is free to turn any canvasser, peddler, or solicitor away.
• Hours for solicitors, peddlers, or canvassers are 10:00 a.m. through 7:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.

**Please note that before an individual is issued a solicitor/peddler permit, they must complete an application, BCI/FBI background check AND be approved by the Mayor.  Any individual that is approved will be issued a permit that will include their photo.  If an individual approaches your property and is unable to produce their permit, please contact the Village office at (330)530-5472 to confirm that they are approved.
